Description:

Ghosts are incorporeal undead memories of creatures they once where. Bold pirates, thieves and muggers, lords and ladies, peasents and children, all were once human, elf or dwarf; orc or troll, it matters not. In death they are feeble, fickle memories who often appear lost; an inescapable forlorn expression labelling them against their more malicious cousins. These creatures are scarcely seen but can be made out within the mists, or should they wish to appear to you, then they shall, as shimmering, crystaline portraits of a creature that once was. As easily as eyes do, swords and arrows pass through their nonpresence, so to become one of the few a ghost dislikes is often a bad move to make.

Lore:

When a man dies with a will in his heart to continue, the body and mind rot away but the spirit lives on as a ghost. It is said that the loss of the mind brings the ghost its forlorn expression; it remains, but it does not know why it remains. It must achieve what it did not in life, but it does not know that, and often the spectral images wander aimlessly for thousands of years without even knowing they're dead. Though not openly malicious, ghosts can be territorial creatures and protect their place of rest rather aggressively. Some are capable of throwing things at intruders, others may make sounds, whilst some can take control over the living. The weakest of ghosts can do as much as lower the temperature to further increase the sense of dread in a dark place.

As with all undead, ghosts must eventually feed on the living. What they consume varies between the sort of ghost they happen to be, but it will always be a piece of the mind, directly effecting ones common sense, intellect or self conscience.
