Thanbalur (Neutral Good) - The Lady of Endless Waters

Domains: Water, Animal, Travel, Destruction

Dogma

The Lady of the Seas is considered to be one of the most mysterious deities worshipped across KymLun and the surrounding lands. Legend has it that it's her ocean holding the world in the black nothing. Holding onto her sister, Theira, she helps carry the weight of the land over her shoulders.

It is also often mentioned that it was she who was first created by Haniel, to give birth to the other deities, mortal creatures, and the land itself.

It is believed that sea storms are made of her constant, violent love she shares with Janzel.

She often appears to the Sea Elves and often even to sailors that worship her, granting guidance and protection on their travels.

Thanbalur's symbol is a deep blue circle representing her status as the one holding the world.

Thanbalur has no high cleric currently. The High Sea Council holds occasional meetings but no cleric managed to win the deity's attention since the death of the previous , the one millennia-old sea elf, Enuil Andrel.

Rituals

Rite of Rivers: Every youngster that is to turn adult must wash their foreheads in flowing river's water at spring's dayturn singing the song of the high seas.

Sacred Waters: Holy water, drinking water and bathing water all have their own soul according to the believers, and their own prayers and rituals as well. A follower of Thanbalur always thanks the Lady for the water they use. A follower of Thanbalur enters the bath with the left leg and exits it with the right leg at all times.

Taken by the sea: The dead are laid to rest in open wooden coffins at the seaside by sundown covered by a blue cloth with the deep blue circle on its surface. They believe that the lady shall take or raise the fallen as she sees fit.

Position

Within the pantheon of gods, Thanbalur is said to be the daughter of Domorus and Seleen and the wife to Janzel, the Laughing Wanderer.
