Leviathan - Deity of the Naga

Outsider (Oni) - Naga

Description

The Naga are one of five types of Oni that represent aspects of an element. Their element is water. Of all Oni, the Naga are amongst the most respected in Zheradan because of being incredibly ancient creatures that are similar to Dragons. These matriarchal beings are huge, serpentine, tailed humanoids that reside in temples and ruins within the ocean. They span typically from head to tail about fifteen to twenty feet in length. Generally, the males are warriors and the women are seers. Though the males appear significantly larger, they are incredibly humble to the females. They are terrifying in terms of boundaries and territory. If their borders are crossed, their personalities become as cold as ice. Generally, they do not have much interaction with the surface world, and they prefer to be outsiders that stay content with spiritual refuge. Though - should the rare event happen that they would attack - Naga raids are amongst the most devastating that exist. Many Naga do not give in to their emotions, though the ones that choose to prove to show excessive amounts of benevolence. Many Zheradanians pray to them for wisdom and insight, for they are known to be an extremely intuitive, mysterious race. In the deep waters, closest to Zheradan, their capitol is known as Lemuria - a huge city spanning over their Queendom of Oceania - known as "The Dragon Land of Immortal Serpents." Less than a handful of surfacers would know that the Naga waged war in another dimension with a strange nation known as Atlantis, which apparently contained a race of scientists that created the Naga as Homo Atlantis. They rebelled and escaped from their shackles, and a great tragedy was created - after some time when they went out of their way to free new creations - through a war with the scientist nation which completely reformed the lands and waters of that planet. Some Naga and a portion of their city escaped through a pocket in time and were dumped into Gaia. It is an untold time of years ago, but it has been said they once were humans themselves; a different kind of human that once called themselves the Mu. Some strange force over time was responsible for changing them into Oni.

Sightings

Like all Oni, they usually appear in the Zheradanian regions. Most Oni appear in places that are uninhabited, such as valleys, forests, and mountains. Naga exist within the lakes and the surrounding ocean of Zheradan.
